Class Description: This class will teach the basics of grammar as well as practice handwriting, simple spelling and retaining story information! We will read together, write our spelling words with tips and tricks and learn all about parts of grammar.

Class Description: This class is intended for upper elementary ages and we will build upon our Grammar! We will practice writing stories (practice punctuation, spelling, grammar, capitalization, etc) The students will learn spelling words as well. Creativity paired with English essentials will make this an exciting class!

CREATIVE WRITING
/SPEECH & DEBATE

Class Description:CW/SD seeks to promote creativity and imagination through writing and encourage students to also use their voice in a powerful way through formal speech and debating important current event topics, promoting healthy conversation of opposing views. This class will utilizing various writing prompts to encourage stronger penmanship while working on structure, flow, and rhythm in a body of work. Grammar, spelling, vocabulary will all be factored into our writing process as well. Character and topic development, understanding research, utilizing resources to give ideas, and multiple writing concepts will also all be explored. Speech/Debate will dive into the importance of dialect, pronunciation, projection, self-confidence, stage presence all while learning the etiquette of healthy debating of popular topics.

BOOK CLUB
Grade Range: 7th-12th

Class Description:This class is designed for older students that have a love of reading all genres. Grade and age-appropriate book choices will be approved and agreed upon by Parents before we start the semester. This class promotes involved, healthy, interactive discussions about the current book choice. We will discuss character and plot development, understanding an author's writing style and genres of books read. We will read multiple selections each semester and have associated assignments for books we read. Reading a good book can take the focus off of gaming, and TV, promoting and encouraging our youth into the world of written imagination put on page.
