ABOUT SUMMIT HOMESCHOOL COMMUNITY
OUR MISSION
The mission of Summit Homeschool Community is to pursue excellence, community, and Christ-like character as we encourage and equip homeschool families. We strive to challenge students to grow both academically and spiritually, with the Bible as our ultimate standard of truth. We desire to have a positive impact on students, teaching them to love and obey God, to know His Word, to love one another, and to glorify Him in everything we do.
OUR VISION
We partner with families on their homeschool journey, coming alongside them to equip, to encourage, and to connect them to each other in community. Our classes are designed to supplement what is taught at home. SHC Parents work as a team with SHC Administrators and Teachers, serving as Parent Volunteers on campus, based on number of classes per semester. Our instructors teach from a Biblical worldview. We offer non-accredited classes in academics, as well as electives in fine arts, clubs, and more!
OUR HISTORY
Summit Homeschool Community will officially open in August 2024. SHC was formally owned and operated by Summit Academy LLC. In the spring of 2024, Hannah and Derek Rock purchased the campus as an asset of Summit Academy, from Jill Butcher who began and operated Summit Academy since 2007.
Hannah has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Truett-McConnell University, and she has 10 years teaching experience in both private school and homeschool programs. Hannah has served in vocational music ministry for 4 years while teaching part-time. Hannah has taught at Summit for 9 years, primarily in Conyers and served as the campus site director for the Conyers campus for 4 years. The Rocks are passionate about homeschooling and discipling students to know and love God!
